Halifax police investigating pair of robberies in Dartmouth

Halifax Regional Police are investigating two robberies that took place in north end Dartmouth on Saturday night.

Police say a man entered the Shoppers Drug Mart on Wyse Road at around 7:50 p.m.

Once inside the store, the man demanded money and prescription drugs.

He fled after receiving an undisclosed amount of cash and drugs.

The suspect is described as wearing a black hoodie, blue jeans, a ball cap and sunglasses. No weapon was seen during the robbery.

It is unknown if the man left the area on foot or in a vehicle.

A short time later, at around 9 p.m., JeBailey’s Market Kwik-Way on Wyse Road was also robbed.

In this case, police say a man tried to get cash from both the register and an employee’s wallet.

During the robbery, the employee was assaulted and received minor injuries but did not require medical treatment.

Police say no weapon was seen during this robbery either.

The suspect in the Kwik-Way robbery is described as a white man in his 20s with brown hair. He was wearing a white coat, black shorts and sandals and left the area in a vehicle.

Both robberies remain under investigation at this time. Police say it is unknown if the two are related.
