One man spent the night in hospital and another in jail after an overnight stabbing near Vancouver’s Granville Strip.
Vancouver police Sgt. Jason Robillard said the altercation, involving two 21-year-old men, happened around 3:30 a.m. near the corner of Granville and Nelson Streets.
It’s unclear what sparked the confrontation.
The victim suffered a stab wound and was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, where he remains in stable condition, Robillard said.
The alleged attacker was arrested, and police said they are recommending charges for aggravated assault and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
Robillard said a third man, unrelated to the incident, was pepper sprayed and arrested by an officer for breach of the peace, but was later released without charge.
