Police investigating assault in Dartmouth

Halifax Regional Police are investigating an assault that happened Monday night in Dartmouth.

Police were called to an address on Gaston Road just before 10 p.m. and found a 59-year-old man with what they are describing as “significant injuries.”

Police say evidence at the scene indicates the man was assaulted at that location.

The victim was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment.

As of Tuesday morning, detectives with the Forensic Identification Section and the Integrated General Investigation Section were looking for evidence at the scene.
