Fatal single-vehicle rollover near Paynton, Sask.

Maidstone RCMP said a man was killed in a single-vehicle rollover five kilometres south of Paynton, Sask., last week.

At around 4:05 p.m. CT on Sept. 15, emergency services were called to the crash that happened on a grid road.

A passenger in the rear of the vehicle, a 48-year-old man from Poundmaker Cree Nation, was pronounced dead at the scene. His name was not released by police.

The driver of the car, a 44-year-old North Battleford man, was taken to hospital with unknown injuries along with a second passenger, a 58-year-old man from Poundmaker Cree Nation.

An RCMP collision reconstructionist was brought in to investigate the fatal rollover.

Paynton is approximately 185 kilometres northwest of Saskatoon.
