The official change of season isn’t for another week, but in Kingston, it’s already fall. Midway rides at the Kingston Fall Fair have taken over the Memorial Centre for the weekend.
“It’s something that I always did when I grew up, my parents always took me to the fair,” fair-goer Lisa Brushey said. “So now I just want to continue the tradition.”
The Midway and several food vendors kicked things off Thursday, but over the course of the weekend, the fair will feature a demolition derby, petting zoo and numerous local group information booths.
Lines were much shorter on Thursday than they will be for the rest of the weekend, and those who did come out took full advantage of the perk.
“A lot shorter lines, I mean you can get food in a couple of minutes,” Jordan Rombough said, he attended the fair with his partner and their two children.

“I just like bringing my young daughter and watching her have fun on the rides,” Sabrina Lafrance said.
Admission to the fair is $10 for adults, $5 for students, and children six and under are free.
