A 29-year-old Hamilton man will be charged with first-degree murder in connection with a fatal stabbing at a downtown bar.
Hamilton police say the accused, who will be formally charged when he appears in court Tuesday, turned himself in without incident at central headquarters Monday morning.
Homicide investigators were called to the Coco Bongo Bar and Lounge, which is located in a strip mall at Queen Street and York Boulevard, early Sunday morning.
The victim, now identified as Reald Vercani, 33, of Toronto, had been stabbed to death.
His death is the city’s sixth homicide of 2017.
