A 16-year-old boy was riding his bike at the intersection of Davison Drive and 50 Street when he was struck by an SUV, Red Deer RCMP said.

It happened Thursday morning while the cyclist was riding through a crosswalk, RCMP said.

The teen was taken to hospital with “undetermined injuries” and police have not provided an update on his condition.

The intersection was closed for some time Thursday morning as police and a collision analyst investigated the scene.

“RCMP are investigating all possible contributing factors in this collision and do not believe this is a criminal investigation at this time,” police said in a news release.
