Sports fields at the Mission Recreation Park in Kelowna will experience some closures over the next few weeks as the City installs an improved irrigation system.
“The irrigation system for three soccer fields will be upgraded and replaced in order to lower maintenance costs, improve watering efficiency and conserve more water,” Andrew Gibbs, senior project manager with the City of Kelowna, said.

The closure will impact only one soccer field at a time to minimize the impact on users.
The $300,000 project will begin Thursday, Aug. 17 and scheduled to be complete by Oct. 31.
City staff are working closely with user groups to reschedule games and practices.
