Toronto police have released dramatic surveillance footage of the “choreographed” and “unprovoked” fatal shooting of a Hamilton man in the city’s north end last month.
Det.-Sgt. Joyce Schertzer told reporters during a press conference Thursday Leonard Pinnock, 33, of Hamilton, was shot multiple times by two assailants while sitting in a parked vehicle on Dufferin Street and Bowie Avenue April 21 around 9:30 p.m.
Schertzer said Pinnock, who was not from the area, travelled to the location as a favour to a friend.

“Although he was in the neighbourhood for a long time, the windows on the vehicle aren’t tinted and he would be visible to anybody who passed by,” Sherzter said, adding he was sitting in the driver’s seat and dressed all in red at the time of the shooting.
“But there is nothing to suggest in Mr. Pinnock’s background a reason for any motive.”

Police released surveillance video of the shooting in hopes that someone may recognize one of the two suspects.
In the video, two men can be seen approaching the vehicle from Bowie Street in what Schertzer deemed “a choreographed manner.”
“This is seemingly unprovoked, there is no exchange – no contact between the offenders and Mr. Pinnock,” Schertzer said.
The two suspects are considered to be armed and dangerous and police said members of the public should not approach them if spotted.
