A police investigation closed Powell Street between Woodland and Commercial Drive in Vancouver Friday morning.
The Vancouver Police Emergency Response Team was called to 1516 Powell Street in relation to an alleged assault shortly before 5 a.m.

They attempted to negotiate the safe surrender of a suspect believed to be connected to an alleged assault. Just before 2 p.m., the suspect, a 39-year-old Vancouver man, exited his residence and was taken into custody without incident.
The man is now facing potential assault charges.
