“Without question, one of the most underrated roster spots in football is the position in which Chad excels at,” said Bombers General Manager Kyle Walters in a statement.
“He is excellent at his craft and is extremely knowledgeable in regards to special teams. With Chad, we don’t have to think twice about a big piece of our kicking game.”
Rempel has dressed in 172 CFL games over 12 seasons with the Bombers, Saskatchewan Roughriders, Toronto Argonauts and Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He also spent a season with the NFL’s Chicago Bears.
With Rempel’s extension, the Bombers now have 20 players who can become free agents on Feb. 14, 2017.
