Walters was hired by the Bombers in 2010 to be their special teams coordinator. He became the club’s assistant general manager in 2013 and was promoted to general manager later that season. The 43-year-old put Winnipeg in position for success last off-season by signing several big-name free agents such as Andrew Harris, Weston Dressler and Ryan Smith. The Bombers’ 11-7 record this year marked the team’s best since 2003.
