Kelowna Rockets player earns a spot on the national junior team

Dillon Dube of the Kelowna Rockets makes national junior team.

A member of the Kelowna Rockets will be skating for Team Canada at the upcoming World Junior Hockey Championship.

Forward Dillon Dube made the team as the final cuts were announced Wednesday night.

Dube is the 14th Rockets player to lace up for the national junior team.

His selection means he’ll miss the final three games of the seven game road trip the Kelowna squad is currently on and the next home game on December 27th.

Dube has 11 points in 10 games for the Rockets after sitting out the first part of the season because of an injury.

He’s a second-round draft pick of the Calgary Flames.

And a pair of Penticton Vees alumni has also been named to Team Canada.

Tyson Jost and Dante Fabbro are the only college players on the 22 member roster.
