Police investigating violent home invasion in Brampton

Police said three male suspects entered a home on Moorehead Crescent in Brampton armed with a knife and replica handgun.

Three people were home at the time, around 12:04 a.m. Saturday morning, and a struggle broke out with one of the male occupants.

“As a result a male occupant was stabbed in the back,” said Cst. Rachel Gibbs with Peel Regional Police.

The victim’s injuries are considered non-life-threatening.

“The three suspects left on foot. The canine [unit] could not track them, so it was believed there was a motor vehicle used in the getaway,” said Gibbs.

Some property was stolen and the replica handgun was left behind.
