Regina police have arrested two women and are still searching for one suspect after two drivers had to be extracted from a stolen vehicle.

At around 12:15 a.m. CT on Dec. 5, officers saw a reported stolen car, in the 2600 block of 7th Avenue. Police pulled in behind the vehicle and attempted to stop it via a traffic stop.

According to police, the vehicle attempted to drive away but couldn’t due to icy conditions.

An officer pulled the male driver from the vehicle when the front passenger, a 30-year-old woman, got into the driver’s seat and tried to drive away. The police officer then pulled the woman from the vehicle and the man fled. The woman was arrested and charged.

A 27-year-old woman, who was a rear passenger, was also arrested and charged. Police are still searching for the male suspect.
