SWAT team responds to violent incident in East Vancouver

Two men are in hospital today and two are in custody after a violent crime at a home in East Vancouver Friday morning.

Vancouver Police were called just before 9 a.m. to a home on East Georgia Street near Boundary Road.

The VPD Emergency Response Team, negotiators, K9 officers, and a number of uniformed police contained the home to deal with the situation and identify those involved. A number of witnesses have also been transported to the police station for interviews.

One of the victims was rushed to Royal Columbian Hospital after first attending Burnaby General.

The home remains behind crime scene tape as the investigation continues.

Vancouver Police originally said this incident may have involved a shooting or a stabbing but are not providing any more details at this time.
