Roger Parent, the Saskatchewan Party MLA for Saskatoon Meewasin, has been diagnosed with cancer.
Parent sought medical treatment after not feeling well.
Tests revealed the cancer is widespread.

Parent was first elected in 2011 and was re-elected in 2016 with just over 50 per cent of the vote.

He has served in a number of positions as a MLA, including the standing committee for human resources, the standing committee for private bills and the special committee on traffic safety.
Prior to entering politics, Parent worked as a business consultant and in project management. He was also involved in a number of community initiatives.
