75-year-old man dies after being struck by car in Stony Plain parking lot

RCMP are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that happened in the parking lot of a grocery store in Stony Plain Monday.

Mounties were called to the Co-op grocery store near 49 Street and 50 Avenue at around 4 p.m.

They said it appears the 22-year-old driver of a grey 2010 Nissan Altima didn’t see the 75-year-old man walking and he was hit.

The pedestrian suffered serious injuries and was taken to the University of Alberta Hospital by Stars Air Ambulance. He later died from his injuries.

The driver was not injured.
