Pedestrian hit by vehicle on Macleod Trail

Police respond to southbound Macleod Trail and 41 Avenue S.W. on Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2016 after a women was hit by a vehicle. Global News

One woman was seriously injured after being hit by a vehicle near Chinook Centre on Wednesday.

Emergency crews were called to southbound Macleod Trail and 41 Avenue S.W. at around 7 p.m.

Police said the victim was crossing Macleod Trail when she was hit; it’s unclear if she was in a crosswalk at the time. EMS took her to hospital in serious, potentially life-threatening condition.

The Calgary Police Service traffic unit closed a section of Macleod Trail for over an hour while they investigated.
