Police in Vaughan, Ont. are asking the public to help identify a suspect seen on camera stealing a Children’s Miracle Network donation box for Toronto’s Hospital for Sick Children.

York Regional Police said a man ordered food at a restaurant in the Highway 7 West and Ansley Grove Road area at 8:20 p.m. on Oct. 25.

While waiting for his food, police said the donation box “full of cash” caught the suspect’s attention.

The suspect then went to his car, grabbed a pair of wire cutters and can been seen on surveillance camera re-entering the store and cutting the wire that attached the box to the counter.

Police said he then stole the donation box and ran from the store on foot.

Investigators are releasing the footage in hopes someone will identify the suspect.

He is described by police as a white male, standing 5’7″ to 6’0″ tall, wearing a black UFC hat, black jacket with a hood, black track pants and black running shoes.
