After one of the tightest civic election races Saskatoon has seen in recent history, Charlie Clark, Don Atchison and Kelley Moore are looking at what comes next.

Clark’s win is still technically unofficial until 11 a.m. CT on Friday when the City of Saskatoon will declare the official results at city hall.

The new mayor and council will be sworn in Monday.

“It’s going to look different the way we operate and I’ll be talking to you more about that over time,” Clark said Thursday on Global News Morning.

During the campaign, Moore was on unpaid leave from her position with Saskatchewan’s Ministry of Social Services. She plans to return to work on Tuesday.

She will continue working with her partner at Prairie Wild Consulting and hasn’t ruled out another run for public office.

“My candidacy for mayor really raised the profile of the election [and] got people talking and I don’t want that to stop,” Moore said in her Global News Morning interview.

Atchison spoke briefly at city hall Wednesday evening, wishing Clark well, but offering him no advice.

Saskatoon’s longest-running mayor didn’t rule out a future run for provincial or federal politics.

“Tonight we dealt with a civic election, so we will wait to see what the future brings for us,” he told reporters.

The outgoing mayor was scheduled for an interview on Global News Morning Thursday, but cancelled after the results of the election came in.
