A Starbucks employee in Penticton had her arm slashed when someone tried to steal a bag of money she was carrying to the bank.
Penticton RCMP said the incident happened on Monday afternoon when the employee, who works at the Riverside Plaza Starbucks, was walking to TD Bank in downtown Penticton.

She was taking the coffee shop’s daily deposit to the bank when she was approached by a stranger wearing dark clothing on Robinson Street.
According to police, the person cut the strap off of a briefcase she was carrying which contained around $2,500.
“That action of cutting and trying to steal it cut the person’s arm,” Cpl. Don Wrigglesworth said.

Police said the victim suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries; she was taken to hospital.
The victim wasn’t able to describe the person who attacked her. Police continue to investigate.
Police believe the suspect got away with the money.
