Two Alberta men have been charged after RCMP seized nearly 30 pieces of stolen equipment from a property near Rocky Mountain House earlier this week.

After receiving reports that items were stolen from a truck in Sundre, officers searched a rural property near Rocky Mountain house on Wednesday, where they found 16 brand new quads and snowmobiles, three new RV units, two trailers, one flat deck trailer and five used trucks. Several firearms were also seized from the home.

“Any time we can take guns out of the hands of wrongful owners, we make a community somewhat safer,” Sgt. Jim Lank with the Sundre RCMP said.

The value of the equipment seized was $500,000.

RCMP believe most of the quads and snowmobiles were stolen from Calgary. Two of the RVs were stolen from Sundre; the third was taken from Calgary, police said in a release Friday.
