HALIFAX – Nova Scotia is projecting a slim surplus of $18.9 million for the 2016-17 fiscal year.
The surplus figure is $1.8 million dollars more than the $17.1 million figure estimated in the April budget.

Finance Minister Randy Delorey says revenue and expenses are both up mainly due to the province taking part in the federal infrastructure program.

The province has spent $102.3 million on clean water projects, post-secondary education and research.
Delorey says the slightly higher surplus figure is the net result of other increased revenues and reduced expenses.
