Forget fries, one McDonald’s restaurant is asking if you would like a play structure with that.
The McDonald’s restaurant in Selkirk, Man., put its play structure up for sale online for $10,000. The building is undergoing renovations that no longer allow space for the two-storey kids’ structure.
“The structure was very expensive, it cost more than $70,000,” said Steve Power, the supervisor at the restaurant.
“Rather than have it end up in the garbage we were hoping someone would buy it at a much lower cost, like a community centre.”
The owner of the fast food chain, Barry Bruce put up an advertisement for the structure on Kijiji last week. It reads:
“Giant kids commercial play structure for sale. We are in the process of replacing our present play structure and would like to find a new home for this one. It’s been well-maintained and is in excellent condition.”
Bruce said so far he has had one person inquire about the advertisement so far. He said the structure is well-sanitized and in great condition. However, whoever buys it will have to sign a waiver form.
“If we can’t sell it, we may even donate it. But it has to go pronto as we start renovations in mid-September,” Bruce said.
