A 33-year-old man wanted in connection with a hit-and-run in Calgary in February, was picked up in Blackfalds Wednesday.
A warrant was issued for Grouette after a two-vehicle crash early Feb. 18.

In a release Thursday, Calgary Police said Derek Brian Grouette was involved in a foot chase with RCMP in Blackfalds when he was taken into custody. He has since been transported to Calgary.
Police told Global News the circumstances for Grouette speaking with RCMP Wednesday are unknown, but said Grouette had given RCMP a false name before taking off.

Witnesses told police a truck had been travelling southbound in the northbound lanes of 37 Street SW when it collided with a car in the intersection of 130 Avenue.
The occupants of the truck ran from the scene and police believe the vehicle had been stolen from Chestermere prior to the crash.
The 52-year-old driver of the car, Keith Morley died on scene.

Two people, Janelle Umpherville, 26, and a 17-year-old male have been previously charged. A Canada-wide warrant was issued for Grouette.
Grouette will appear in court Thursday to face a number of charges including; hit-and-run causing death, dangerous driving causing death, break-and-enter, operating a vehicle while unauthorized, operating a vehicle without insurance, two counts of possession of stolen property over $5,000 and six counts of possession of stolen property under $5,000.
