‘Running away from the collision was heartless’: family responds to fatal crash

On Wednesday, police released two heartfelt statements from Morley’s family in which they asked the final suspect to do the honourable thing.

“I am asking the man who fled from the collision to turn himself in,” Morley’s sister, Carol, said.

“Running away from the collision was heartless, but I hope that the man still on the run has thought about the life he took, and comes forward to accept responsibility.”

“If any of his family or friends know where he is, please contact police,” Carol added. “My family is searching for a right somewhere in this wrong. These three people have already made a huge impact on my family by taking away such a special man.”

Morley’s nephew, meanwhile, described his uncle as being a big part of his life.

“He has taught me most of the important life lessons that I have learned over the years, which has helped me to become the person that I am today,” Jesse Stephens said. “I looked up to him so much all through my childhood, which is why I asked him to be the best man at my wedding in 2012.”

“It brings grief to our hearts to know that Uncle Keith will not be here to watch our children grow up.”

“He was always there when we needed him, even if he didn’t really have the time he would make time to help us or anybody else who needed it,” Stephens added. “I believe that it was important to him to help people and that it brought him true joy to bring other people happiness.”
