A man is facing numerous charges after Saskatoon police seized a SKS assault rifle, a handgun and crystal meth in a drug bust.

The man was arrested following a high-risk traffic stop Friday evening in the area of 8th Street and Acadia Drive.

When patrol officerd stopped the vehicle, a passenger fled.

He was taken into custody following a brief foot chase.

A search turned up 48.4 grams of crystal meth, a loaded handgun and $1,760 in cash.

Members of the tactical support unit then executed a high-risk search warrant at a home in the 100-block of Slimmon Crescent where they seized a SKS assault rifle and a handgun.

The 26-year-old Saskatoon man is facing 31 drug and weapon charges.

He is scheduled to appear in Saskatoon provincial court on Monday.
