Saskatchewan man walking on Highway 2 struck by SUV dies

Saskatchewan RCMP are investigating a fatal pedestrian collision that occurred on Highway 2 at around 11:30 p.m. CT on Tuesday.

The initial investigation by police has revealed that a 30-year-old man came out of the ditch and began walking on the road north of Prince Albert.

He was not immediately seen by the driver of an SUV and was subsequently hit.

The man was pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released but he is from Muskoday First Nation.

The 34-year-old driver of the northbound SUV immediately stopped and emergency services were called. She and the other people in the vehicle were not injured.

No charges have been laid at this time.

A collision reconstructionist is assisting with the investigation.
