Running in lane six, Tachinski was in the middle of the pack for the first lap and as they hit the final 200 metres she was still dueling for a medal position. She appeared to briefly rub shoulders with another runner and as they hit the stretch run three runners broke away from the pack. The United States’ Samantha Watson and Aaliyah Miller finished first and second respectively.
