A woman in her 60s was taken to hospital after police said two men forced their way into her house early Saturday morning.
At around 12:30 a.m., police were called to the 200 block of Strathbury Bay S.W.
The victim had been home alone and police said one of the suspects struck her on the head with the butt end of a handgun before both suspects fled.
The victim was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and she has since been released.
Police said nothing was stolen.
“Police believe the incident was intended as a targeted attack, but the suspects mistakenly entered the wrong house,” the Calgary Police Service said in a press release Monday.
Police are asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the CPS non-emergency line at 403-266-1234 or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
