Online ad featuring stolen tractor leads Alberta RCMP to suspects

Three people are to appear in a central Alberta court this week after an online ad featuring a stolen tractor led RCMP to the suspected thieves.

Mounties say the tractor worth $25,000 was stolen from a Stettler-area equipment dealer last Monday and the ad showed up the next day.

Officers showed up at the site of the proposed sale, searched the area and found the tractor.

Two men and a woman are facing several charges, including theft over $5,000 and possession of stolen property for the purpose of trafficking.

Murray Peters, who is 38 and from Red Deer, 34-year-old Jesse McLeod of Halkirk and 18-year-old Jacqueline Hinse, also of Halkirk, are to appear in Stettler provincial court on Thursday.
