Unsettled for your long weekend forecast – find out below if there will be rain for Canada Day fireworks!
Severe Thunderstorm Watch
A severe thunderstorm watch has been issued for the Lloydminster, Biggar, Rosetown, Kindersley, Wilkie, Leader, Swift Current, Maple Creek and Cypress Hills areas.
Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may be capable of producing damaging wind gusts, damaging hail and heavy rain.
Severe thunderstorms have developed in Alberta and are slowly tracking eastward toward Saskatchewan.
These thunderstorms are expected to persist well into the evening and enter into western Saskatchewan by early evening.

The day started out under sunny skies with temperatures falling to 10 degrees early this morning.

We quickly warmed up into the 20s by late morning with mostly sunny skies dominating the day under a ridge of high pressure.
This afternoon we’re expecting to continue to see the mercury climb with an daytime high in the mid-20s.
Tonight
Clouds will roll back in tonight as an upper disturbance moves in and temperatures fall back into the low teens.
Canada Day Friday
The upper disturbance moving in will bring in a good chance of rain early in the day as well as a chance of thundershowers later in the afternoon with cloudy skies sticking around through the day.
We’re expecting an afternoon high around 24 degrees tomorrow, making for a fairly mild, but cloudy and possibly wet Canada Day, so pack an umbrella if you’re heading out to celebrate and do outdoor activities.
It looks as though there is only a slight chance of showers sticking around into the evening hours, which will likely have cleared out in time for fireworks with temperatures sitting in the mid-teens if you’re heading out for the festivities.
Winds will also be a bit breezy later in the day through into the evening hours during fireworks time with sustained speeds in the 30 km/h range with gusts upwards of 40 km/h at times.
Saturday/Sunday
Unsettled weather moves back in this weekend with a chance of showers and thunderstorms both days.
Saturday looks like it’ll stay cloudy throughout the day before some clearing possible late in the day on Sunday.
Temperatures both days will top out in the mid-to-high 20s with a southerly flow sticking around with winds a bit stronger on Saturday.
Work Week Outlook
Next week may be a bit cooler and remain unsettled with a chance of showers and thunderstorms through much of the week.
Daytime highs are likely to be back into the low-to-mid-20s throughout with an upper trough putting a bit of a damper on temperatures.
