Toddler unharmed after falling, getting trapped in Nova Scotia well

Police say a toddler has been rescued after falling into a well in rural Nova Scotia and being trapped.

RCMP Cpl. Neil Wentzell says the 18-month-old child fell into the well Tuesday afternoon in Economy, 60 kilometres west of Truro, N.S.

RCMP say the child was rescued by a volunteer firefighter who responded to the incident.

The toddler was taken to hospital as a precaution, but RCMP say the child wasn’t harmed.

RCMP, EHS, the Economy Fire Department as well as Truro Hazmat responded to the incident.
