Stephen Colbert loves Canada; that much has been made clear over the years.

The late-night host of The Late Show With Stephen Colbert loves the country so much, in fact, that once he heard that Canada’s parliament is contemplating changing the words to the national anthem to make it gender-neutral, he decided to write his own rendition of O Canada.
Of course, it’s full of stereotypes, and leads off with the widely held perception that Canadians say “sorry” all the time. Appropriately, the song closes with a reference to Canada’s “hot” prime minister, Justin Trudeau.

“Please rise — and place your hand over your beaver,” said Colbert as he introduced his version.
