MONTREAL – The fifth annual “Hockey de Rue” tournament raised $200,000 this year.

Over 300 amateurs and former professionals participated in the event organized by the Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation and the YM-YWHA Montreal Jewish Community Centres.

Each team had to raise $2000 to participate.

Montreal Canadiens Children’s Foundation spokesperson Ryan Frank said the event in its history has raised $1 million for physical activities for disadvantaged kids.

The tournament took place Sunday on Westbury Avenue in Côte-des-Neiges.
