REGINA – Back alleys aren’t a common place to find live performances but on Sunday afternoon, dancers delighted.

The FadaDance Youth Company performed their latest show “Get on the Bus!” The group consists of 25 young people, ranging from ages 14 to 20 years of age.

The unique performance utilized various places and spaces. Some were common areas such as bus stops while others were places that are often overlooked, like library green space.

“We just thought it would be a really fun way to engage people and get them together and tour the city. I mean no one takes a tour of Regina,” FadaDance Heather Cameron explained.

Breaking news from Canada and around the world sent to your email, as it happens.

In addition, audiences were able to experience the different locations as a public city bus takes them along for the ride.

“We were very inspired by the idea of waking up some of the locations in Regina,” Cameron said.

Matisse Buteau, like the rest of her team, had been dancing nonstop. They were one of many moving parts of the dance performance.

“It’s really tiring but it’s so fun, the adrenaline that you get, like just running,” Buteau said.

“We kind of just had to deal with what’s been thrown at us. It’s really cool just to have to dance wherever you can.”

A different take on public transit as audiences were able to enjoy some dancing in the streets on a day where the city was the stage.
