Brandon Wheat Kings Tanner Kaspick named WHL Player of the Week

Brandon Wheat Kings forward Tanner Kaspick has been chosen as the WHL’s Player of the Week after scoring the overtime winner against the Seattle Thunderbirds in the opening game of the league’s championship series.

Kaspick scored the goal 6:22 into the extra frame of Friday’s game in Brandon to give his Wheat Kings a 3-2 victory. The goal marked the 18-year-old Brandonite’s fifth of the playoffs.

Kaspick put up 13 goals and 18 assists along with a plus-15 rating in 53 regular season games. He was named the 2016 WHL Scholastic Player of the Year.

The WHL Championship Final continues Tuesday night in Seattle. Brandon leads the series 2-0.
