KELOWNA–Part of highway 97 will be closed this weekend in Kelowna.
The closure is from Sexsmith/Old Vernon Road to Edwards Road from 9:00 p.m. Saturday until 5:00 a.m. Sunday.
Utilities work is being done as part of six-laning the corridor.

In order to minimize inconvenience to motorists, the utilities work is being done overnight, when traffic is lightest.
For traffic heading north on Highway 97, a detour will direct motorists east on Old Vernon Road, north on Acland Road, and west on Edwards Road.

For traffic heading south on Highway 97, a detour will direct traffric west onto Edwards Road, south onto Adams Road and east on Sexsmith Road.
Travellers are advised to allow extra time to reach their destinations.
