CALGARY – Accused killer Tim Rempel took the stand in his own defence on Tuesday.
Rempel, his wife Sheena Cuthill and his brother Will Rempel are all charged with first-degree murder in the death of Calgary father Ryan Lane.
Lane, 24, disappeared in February 2012 after receiving a mysterious call from someone asking him to meet about the custody of the daughter he fathered with Cuthill.
Rempel admitted he was frustrated when Lane began trying to access the daughter he shared with Cuthill.
Rempel said he wanted to adopt the child, and told court: “I wanted to go talk to Ryan” but denied ever suggesting hurting or killing Lane.
