A RCMP constable in northern Saskatchewan has been charged with one count of assault. At 8:20 a.m. CT on April 1, the Stanley Mission Health Clinic called police to investigate the injuries to an 18-year-old woman.
Investigators determined that shortly before the complaint, a physical altercation involving an off-duty RCMP member took place outside a residence in Stanley Mission.

The 18-year-old woman has since been released from the health clinic.

Const. Elizabeth Cook was arrested on April 1 and charged on Tuesday. She is expected to appear in Stanley Mission provincial court on May 10.
RCMP say Cook, of Saskatoon, has been suspended with pay and a code of conduct has been ordered.
