Fire fighters located the fire in the sixth floor stairwell and on the seventh floor with extension into an eighth floor mezzanine.

One fire fighter was taken to hospital with second degree burns, but has since been released. No other injures were reported.

All 358 guests had to be evacuated from the hotel. Arrangements are being made for people staying in the affected area of the hotel for accommodations in nearby hotels.

Fire officials are treating the fire as suspicious.
