In honour of Boaty McBoatface, the internet has decided to lend a hand to renaming animals using the hashtag #TheInternetNamesAnimals.
You may have heard the story earlier this week where Britain’s National Environmental Council (NERC) launched an online campaign to name its new research vessel. The council asked the public to choose names of historical figures and landmarks. Someone suggested Boaty McBoatface and the internet went crazy. To date, Boaty McBoatface is the clear front-runner.
