REGINA – The woman found guilty in the death of a four-year-old girl in her care filed an appeal of her conviction and sentence on Friday.
In February, Tammy Lynn Goforth was convicted of second degree murder and unlawfully causing bodily harm to the girl’s sister.
She was given a life sentence.

In her form Goforth said she is appealing the sentence because “It (sic) so much of a heavy sentence. I wish to have a second chance of explaining myself.”
She also indicated that if granted a second trial she would prefer a judge rather than a jury decide her case.
Her husband Kevin Goforth, found guilty of manslaughter, has not appealed his conviction or sentence.
