UBCO lost the first set but won the following three against UBC.

The win sends UBCO to Brandon, Manitoba for the March 11 event.

“We thought we’d be going to Nationals by our fifth year,” said Manuel. “For us to accomplish that here tonight in our gym, against UBC, absolutely without doubt the best program of the past 10 years in CIS, for us to beat them in the semi-final, to earn our way, nothing given to us, we earned our way to nationals. I think it’s great vindication for our program.”
