RCMP say they’re not searching for suspects in West Kelowna deaths

WEST KELOWNA–Police have yet to name the two people found dead in the woods just off Shannon Way in West Kelowna on Wednesday morning, but Facebook posts from friends and family are mourning the deaths of Marcello Verna and Kimberly Ansell.

Neighbours have identified Ansell as having lived in the area.

The bodies were discovered around 7 a.m.  The area was cordoned off while RCMP and the BC Coroner’s Service investigated.

RCMP are confirming that a weapon was recovered at the scene.

A police presence remains at a home on Shannon Way.

RCMP are still referring to the case as sudden deaths.  Police are not looking for suspects.

While police are not identifying the deceased by name, they have released that both the 20-year-old man and 31-year-old woman were from West Kelowna.
