Winnipeg Jets Mathieu Perreault now a proud papa

WINNIPEG – Mathieu Perreault’s status has been upgraded to father.

The Winnipeg Jets forward skipped Monday’s practice to be with his wife for the birth of their girl. He will be in the lineup for tonight’s tilt against the Florida Panthers at MTS Centre.

“It was a full day yesterday,” Jets head coach Paul Maurice told Jets TV. “It started very early and ended very late. He came in this morning but we made him go home to get some sleep.”

Maurice says baby and mom are both healthy.
