TORONTO – After years of
preparations to co-host the European Championship, enthusiasm exploded Friday
in Warsaw hours before the opening match between Poland and Greece.

years for Poland and Ukraine as they sought to vindicate UEFA’s decision to
take its showpiece 16-nation tournament to eastern Europe.
