2 injured after hydrogen gas explosion in Toronto

Two people were injured, one seriously, as a result of a hydrogen gas explosion inside an industrial lab in Toronto early Wednesday morning.

Toronto Fire Services say a man in his 40s was taken to hospital with severe burns and another victim suffered minor injuries.

The incident happened around 1 a.m. inside a building at 225 Wicksteed Avenue near Don Mills Road and Eglinton Avenue East.

There’s no word yet what caused the explosion and the Ministry of Labour has been notified.
