Celine Dion’s brother, Daniel, passed away Saturday, only two days after his brother-in-law Rene Angelil died, according to a report.
Celine’s representative Kim Jakwerth told the public on Friday that Daniel, who was 59-years-old, was suffering from cancer and didn’t have long to live.
Not even 24 hours later, Claudette Dion, another Dion sibling, told the sad news to Le Journal de Montreal.
“He was ready,” she said, “and he was no longer suffering. He was serene.”

Daniel, Claudette, and Celine are three of 14 siblings of the Dion family.

Angelil, Celine’s late husband and former manager, died on Thursday after a long battle with throat cancer. A service will be held Friday Jan. 22 at 3 p.m. at Notre Dame Basilica in Montreal.
